3. How to select the BMS for your battery pack ?
A. Battery Type Compatibility: LFP or Li-ion or LTO Battery Pack.
B. Number of Cells in Series (S) :For example, for a 4S battery pack (four cells in series), the BMS must select the 4S.
C. Current Rating (Discharge and Charge Current):For example, if your battery can discharge at 20A, your BMS must support at least 20A continuous discharge. Also you can add a margin (e.g., 20–30%) for safety.
D. Balancing Functionality: Passive balancing is the dissipation of excess energy in the form of heat | Active balance is in the transfer of energy between cells.
